ONE HELD FOR SELLING OXYGENCYLINDERS AT EXORBITANT RATES, THREE CYLINDERS RECOVERED

              The staff of PS PulPrahlad Pur of South East District hasarrested one accused Ramesh Kumar forselling the oxygen cylinders at   exorbitant rates. With his arrest threeoxygen cylinders have been recovered from his possession.  

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION :-

            Many verbal information were beingreceived at PS PPR, Delhi that some persons are selling oxygen cylinders usedfor treatment of Covid patients at exorbitant rates. Keeping in view of thegravity of situation, the staff of police station was briefed to keep closeeyes to apprehend such types of peoples doing black marketing. On 02.05.2021,one secret tip was received that one person was selling the oxygen cylindersfor Rs. 50,000/-per piece. Sensing the gravity of the offence, a raiding team comprising of SI Naresh, PSI Vikash, HC Gajenderand Ct. Anil led by SHO/PulPrahladpur under the supervision of ACP/ Badarpur was constituted to nab theculprit. The raiding team disguised their identity to nab the culprit redhanded. One person from the team was installed as a decoy customer. The decoycustomer reached at his house to purchase one oxygen cylinder. The allegedperson demanded Rs. 50000/- for one oxygen cylinder. After bargaining, the dealwas confirmed in Rs.45000/- for one cylinder and Rs.5000/- was handover to himin advance. In the meantime, a raid was conducted to nab the accused person andthe said accused person was apprehended. The accused person wasidentified as Ramesh Kumar R/o Lohar basti, Pul Prahaldpur Delhi, age 25 yrs. A case FIR No. 228/21 u/s 3/7 Essential Commodities Act, 3 Epidemic Act, 51 DisasterManagement Act and 188 IPC has been registered and the accused was arrested. During the raid, three oxygen cylinders were seized that were recovered from his possession.

 

INTERROGATION:- 

On sustainedinterrogation, the accused person Ramesh disclosed that he works in a shopwhere oxygen, nitrogen and argon gas were sold. He delivers the cylinders inIndustries and hospital. After lockdown, the said shop was closed and he tookthree cylinders from there to sell at exorbitant rates.

RECOVERY:-

1.  Three oxygen cylinders

 

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON :-

 

(1)       Accused Ramesh kumar R/o Lohar basti,Pul Prahaldpur Delhi, age 25 yrs has studied up to 8th class. He works as adelivery boy at one shop selling oxygen and nitrogen cylinders. No previousinvolvement has been found against him.
